
Melissa Cotta, owner/practitioner, offers therapeutic and person-centered sessions. With over 25 years experience as a massage therapist and holistic health practitioner, she integrates various massage and bodywork techniques to alleviate muscle and joint pain, headaches, overall body tension and stress. Connections between stress in a client’s body with lifestyle, social, relational, & emotional factors that may be contributing to system imbalances are often identified. Lifestyle Choices, Self Care, & Health promotion are important components of the therapeutic process. Clients are encouraged to be empowered and active in this process.
Melissa is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Registered Nurse, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, & Certified Hypnotherapist. Her eclectic background in healing modalities assists people in connecting more deeply with themselves, at their own pace and on the path they choose.
She has an ongoing meditation practice and interest in worldwide spiritual teachings, mindfulness, & consciousness awareness. She’s an outdoor enthusiast who loves spending time in nature & around animals, especially dogs. Other activities that bring her joy and balance include kayaking, hiking, walking, and being in community with others.
Melissa received her Massage Therapy training from Central Florida School of Massage Therapy; her MSW in Clinical Social Work from Boston University; her Nursing degree from CCRI; Craniosacral Therapy & Somatoemotional Release training from the Upledger Institute; Integrated Energy Medicine, Shamanic Practices & Depth Hypnosis from the Foundation of the Sacred Stream in Berkeley, CA; Hypnosis Certification from the National Guild of Hypnotists.
